OSMOPUR NATURAL RO water is an ultra-pure water, completely free of chemicals such as chlorine, pesticides, nitrates, phosphates, silicates, etc. It is also free of limestone (hardness 0).
What is RO water used for? RO water is used to compensate for evaporation in the aquarium. Only pure water evaporates — the salts and pollutants such as nitrates remain in the aquarium! If the evaporated water is topped up with tap water, this will gradually increase the concentration of minerals to harmful levels, which can have disastrous consequences. This is one of the main causes of failure in maintaining marine and freshwater aquariums.
RO water can be mixed with (good-quality) tap water to adjust water hardness and obtain less calcareous water.
RO water mixed with salt is used to prepare seawater.
MINERAL
- Ready-to-use freshwater -
OSMOPUR MINERAL is a very high-quality osmosis water blend, subsequently treated with ultraviolet light and finally remineralized with more than 60 essential elements to achieve an ideal ionic balance, very close to that of many tropical waters.
In most regions of France, tap water is not of very good quality and is often too hard (total hardness (GH) around 20 or even higher, and a pH of 8 is not uncommon) for keeping certain ornamental fish such as, among others, Betta splendens. However, a GH around 7, a near-neutral pH, and a very low nitrate (NO3) level are ideal for the long-term maintenance of the vast majority of aquarium fish.

OSMOPUR MARINE is a blend of very high-quality RO water emulsified with a world-renowned sea salt! This mixture is then UV-treated before packaging.
PACKAGING
This packaging consists of a watertight, food-grade pouch specially designed to keep the liquid perfectly intact. It is made of several layers that create a barrier against air and light.
Thanks to the materials used and the tap that prevents air from entering the pouch during dispensing, the water is never exposed to outside air, neither before nor after opening — unlike standard mineral water packaging.
This packaging also offers other advantages, such as being easy to carry, store, and use.

(*) These characteristics are measured at the time of production. These parameters may vary slightly depending on temperature and storage duration.
Caution: When setting up an aquarium for the first time with filtration, even when using Osmopur water, it is important to allow approximately 4 weeks before introducing animals (nitrogen cycle). Refer to the general rules for setting up and maintaining an aquarium.
