Calcium hydrocabonate for reactor and aquarium bottom. In the
natural environment, calcium is an element which is absolutely
essential to marine wildlife's proper physical constitution. It is also
indispensable for the growth of calcareous structures and biodegradation. It is
calcium that ensures the healthy development and fortification of corals.
However, the aquarium is a reconstituted marine environment, and calcium is
not present in abundance. CARBOCAL ensures the simple and progressive
provision of calcium in your aquarium.
It can be used in two ways:
- As a calcium reactor :
CARBOCAL is dissolved by carbon acid (generated by the injection of CO2 in the
water), in order to supply calcium and bicarbonate ions in the same proportions
as the one used during the calcification stage. The granular size of carbocal is
ideal for reacting with CO2. This is why a substrate with such particles will be
more easily dissolved. It also enables a better water circulation in the reactor,
due to the greater amount of space available between particles.
- At the bottom of the aquarium :
The characteristics at the bottom of the aquarium are crucial for the habitat of
benthic organisms. The bottom of the aquarium acts also as a mechanical
barrier to collect and accumulate plankton, waste and detritus. A large variety
of worms, echinodermata, molluscs and crustaceans obtain their food this way
naturally. It is the reason why CARBOCAL, by its structure, its homogeneity and
its purity possesses all the required characteristics for an optimal balance at the
aquarium bottom.
